Illegal Trade Eradication: Illegal goods worth over 1.3 bln Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

From the 31st of August to the 4th of September, illegal teak, 22-wheel trucks with trailers, a crane, a motorboat and excavators as well as illegal goods including palm olein and medicine and illegal timbers and hardwood worth over 1.3 billion Kyats were confiscated in Shwepyitha township, in Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) township, at the Thanlwin Bridge (Mawlamyine) combined checkpoint and in Toungoo district and  in Bago district.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
