Illegal trade: Consumer goods, foodstuffs, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

An Isuzu tractor head and a trailer headed to Mandalay from Muse, carrying 41 kinds of goods including 690 sets of fuel pump assembly and 3,790 kilogrammes of cleaning liquid for carburetor at the Milepost 25/6 on Muse-Mandalay Road on 29 August, nine kinds of goods including 8,800 kilogrammes of Ion exchange resin from a container at the Myanmar Industrial Port, 27,374.88 kilogrammes of Hup Seng cream crackers from four containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint, four mobile phones including iPhone 12 Pro (256G) from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk) and 64 bottles of Fuzhiquan edible oil made in China that were piled up near Naungsai village at the Yepu permanent checkpoint, an unregistered Toyota Alphard near a market on Zaykalay Street in Dawei on 30 August, a total of 2.018 tonnes of illegal timbers in Toungoo district on 31 August.

As a result, a total of nine arrests were made on three consecutive days from 29 to 31 August, with an estimated value of 392.336 million Kyats as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
