




With the aim for the engineering and technological sustainable development, the International Conference on Engineering Education Accreditation 2023 (ICEEA 2023) was held at the Ministry of Industry through video conferencing on Thursday.
In the conference, Chairman of Myanmar Engineering Council Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than said that the conference was jointly conducted by Myanmar Engineering Council, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Committee on Education in Engineering (CEIE) to successfully implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which was established by the United Nations, through the field of engineering education.
He expressed his belief that through the conference, new methods that can set criteria for sustainable development in line with the 2030 Agenda will be developed. He said that it is important to continue to work with relentless efforts in addition to making cooperation with the exchange of views in various sectors to fully implement the 2030 Agenda through engineering education. He called for making discussion to strengthen more the future engineering education sector and to overcome challenges together to create a better world for new generations.
Officials of the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA), the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP), Engineers Australia (EA) IEET CAST Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES), Philippine Technological Council (PTC) and officials from local education field joined the conference from the respective places and would discuss their relevant topics.
Based on the outcomes of the discussion, the attendees would read out papers. The conference will be held for two days.
