'I hope it works out for New York': Trump slams 'communist' Mayor-elect Mamdani

During a speech at the America Business Forum in Miami, President Donald Trump warned that the "opponents are turning America into a communist" country, and "will soon be the refuge for those fleeing communism in New York."

Donald Trump, US President said "If you want to see what congressional Democrats wish to do to America, just look at the result of yesterday's election in New York, where their party installed a communist as the mayor of the largest city in the nation."

New Yorkers voted overwhelmingly for Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani to be their next mayor. The president threatened to cut off federal funds to the city where he made his name if he was elected, and to subject New York to the same immigration enforcement as Los Angeles, Chicago and other major cities.
