Hyundai Motor opens third plant in U.S.

Hyundai Motor Group has inaugurated its third U.S. production facility, the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, located in Bryan County, Georgia. 

This $7.6 billion investment signifies Hyundai's commitment to the U.S. market and its strategic pivot towards electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. The plant's opening coincides with the Trump administration's announcement of 25% tariffs on auto imports. 

However, Hyundai's U.S.-made vehicles are exempt from these tariffs, a development attributed to the company's substantial investment in domestic manufacturing. The opening of the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America marks a significant milestone in Hyundai's U.S. operations, emphasizing a shift towards electric mobility and contributing to economic development and job creation in Georgia.​
