Hundreds take part in London's annual Santa Skate

The annual Santa Skate event kicked off at Hyde Park Corner, with up to 500 skaters spreading festive cheer through London’s West End.

Chris Godfrey, skater said "This is the best one, the Santa. We get probably around 500 to a thousand people here today, and it’s brilliant. All the public’s involved in it, and the atmosphere is the best atmosphere ever for this time of the year, so I always make a point that whatever I’m doing I always come to the Santa Skate."

Celebrating its 20th year, the event has faced challenges, including a decline in central London skating due to the pandemic. However, organizers are expecting 300 to 350 participants this year, with favorable weather adding to the excitement.
