Humanitarian Assistance: Receiving the UNHRC delegation

Union Minister at the Chairman of the State Administration Council Office (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing received the delegation led by Director of UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific Ms. Hai Kyung Jun at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views to cooperate between Myanmar and UNHCR, to share updated information on the government’s efforts for the relief, rehabilitation and recovery in the wake of current floods triggered by Typhoon Yagi, to provide humanitarian assistance effectively to the victims of floods and people from hard-to-reach areas, and implementing emergency response and to rehabilitation programmes in accord with “no one left behind principle” of the government. 

The Union Minister also advised them to follow the principle of existing Myanmar Disaster Management (SOP) and properly to extend MoUs with Ministries concerned.
