Humanitarian Assistance: Provision for fire victims at Khaung Doke Kar Village

On 1st March, a fire broke out at a relief camp in Khaung Doke Kar Village of Sittwe Township and damaged a total of 272 rooms of the camp where 2,149 population from 314 households are temporarily sheltered.

Tatmadawmen from Western Command and local battalion, members of Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade members extinguished the fire.

On 2nd March, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and officials proceeded to the scene and inspected the debris clearing process, construction of temporary shelters, drinking water distribution, healthcare service provision as well as preparations to provide necessary aids boxes donated by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. The Chief Minister also met with the community elders, coordinated necessities and provided foodstuff.
