Humanitarian Assistance: MoSWR Union Minister receives UNOCHA delegation

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine received the delegation led by Acting Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) Ms. Danielle Parry at the meeting hall of the Ministry on 4th July.

During the meeting, the Acting Head of UNOCHA reported matters on the humanitarian assistances provided for the cyclone MOCHA hit victims in Rakhine State, entry visas for OCHA staff and domestic travelling.

The Union Minister also exchanged views on the organizing of National Disaster Management Committee and Working Committee (12), coordination works of the International Relation Committee regarding the assistance provided by the foreign countries for the cyclone victims,developing a coordination mechanism for sending provisions to the cyclonic storm affected areas and signing of LoA between the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and OCHA.

The meeting was also attended by the permanent secretary Dr. Ko Ko Naing, directors general from the departments and officials concerned.
