Humanitarian Assistance: Ad-Hoc Meeting of the Task Force held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Ad-Hoc Meeting of the Task Force to facilitate the provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on 23rd March.

The Meeting was chaired by Union Minister for International Cooperation and Chairman of the Myanmar Task Force U Ko Ko Hlaing, and attended by Vice Chairperson of the Task Force, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing and members from the respective ministries.

The Meeting discussed the ways forward to facilitate the completion of Joint Needs Assessment in order to proceed the provision of broader humanitarian assistance to people in need in Myanmar and coordinated among the concerned Ministries to ensuring effective and secure on-ground procedures for interim arrangement of provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.

The Meeting, then reaffirmed Myanmar’s commitment for the implementation of the Point 4 of the Five-Point Consensus which is the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar by enhancing the synergy between the existing mechanisms to meet the needs of people in need.
