Human Resource Dev’t: Myanmar & Japan Exchange Notes On Grant Aid For Scholarship Program

Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar Maruyama Ichiro and Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Bharat Singh signed and exchanged notes concerning the grant aid to Myanmar for “the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship”, worth 627 million Japanese yen, according to the announcement of Japanese Embassy in Myanmar on 6th July.

The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship aims at providing young governmental officials who will be leading the country in future with an opportunity to study in Japan for Master’s and PHD degrees and gain necessary skills and knowledge.

It is expected to contribute to solving development issues in Myanmar and strengthening the bilateral relations by creating human networks. JDS has been started in Myanmar since 2001.

Up to the present, total of 545 Fellows have been sent to Japan.
