Hpakant Flood: Thousands Of People Affected

Following heavy rain, the water level of Uru Creek has risen and flooded Hpakant Township area of Kachin State. In Kansi area, the Uru Creek has reached above the danger level.

Villages along the Uru Creek and low-lying wards in Hpakant Township have been flooded since the 17th of August. 4,228 people in the area have been affected by the flood. Officials have been providing foods to the flood victims. It’s the highest water level recorded in 3 years.
