Hotels and Tourism Sector: SAC Chairman holds meeting with entrepreneurs

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Friday afternoon met with the Thandwe Township hotels and tourism entrepreneurs.

In this meeting at the Pristine Mermaid Resort, the Prime Minister heard reports on matters including hotels and tourism operation in Rakhine State, issuance of license, arrival of local and foreign tourists, adherence to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines, promotion of tourism sector, management, the need to upgrade the Thandwe Airport into an international one and to upgrade the Yangon-Ngapali Road.

In his response, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the COVID-19 vaccination programme in hotels and tourism sector and plans to upgrade the Airport into an international one and to continue implementation of the ThaHtay Hydropower Project. 

He also praised the beauty of the Ngapali Beach and said that, it is important to cultivate good human resources in a systematic manner to make the hotels and tourism sector successful. The Prime Minister also called on attendees to create green zones and to work together to promote the socioeconomic status of locals.

After the meeting, he inspected completion of the construction of Aung Sit Thi Resort [Lintha] and gave necessary instructions. Also, at the Thandwe Airport, the Prime Minister heard reports on plans to upgrade the Airport, stressed the benefits the Airport will bring after upgrade and gave necessary instructions.
