Hotel and Tourism Sector: MoHT Union Minister received a delegation

Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khine received a delegation led by the Deputy CEO of Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd and Chairman & CEO of Rich Resource International Investment Co., Ltd Mr. Xu Hui at the parlor of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on August 18.

After extending words of greeting by the Union Minister, the matters on more arrival of Chinese tourists to Myanmar and visiting the destinations securely and smoothly, relaxation on visas, collaboration with the related ministries to be easy and smooth for the Chinese tourists in expenses during the visit in Myanmar, to invite the Chinese investors for the development of hotel and tourism sector etc. were cordially discussed.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the senior officials of the ministry, officials who are branch office In-Charge from Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States, chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation and chairmen, vice chairmen and officials from affiliated associations at the Jade Hall of the Ministry.

At the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the increase of domestic travellers since the open season of 2021, more arrival of foreign tourists after giving relaxation of entry visa and health restrictions, collaboration with the related ministries to be easy and smooth for the tourists during the visit in Myanmar, promotion of tourist destinations, preparations for the convenient travelling and management of tourists destinations to be conducted for the possible Chinese tourists as Myanmar has included in the list of countries where the package tour of Chinese citizens are permitted to visit etc.

Next, the Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe clarified regarding cooperation for the development of hotel and tourism sector. Then, the deputy director of the directorate of hotel and tourism explained the arrangements to hole the tourism forum for the development of hotel and tourism industry.

Next, the attendees who are representatives of the hotel and tourism federation and associations reported status of work implementations, challenges entercountered and the works to be done for the industry and the Union Minister Dr. Thet  Thet Khine supplemented necessary matters and coordinated requirements.
