Hotel and tourism sector: MoHT Union Minister met with stakeholders of HT sector

The Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khine met with the departmental officials, responsible officials from the tourism associations, hoteliers and travel agencies in Pyin Oo Lwin Township in the afternoon on 25th October.
At the meeting, the Union Minister pointed out that the tourism industry plays the vital role in the implementation for the development of a country’s economy as well as it’s a comprehensive industry included by multi sectors, its income distribution has the multiplier effect not only on the entrepreneurs but also on the basic labourers. The development of tourism industry has the direct effects on the creation of job opportunity, boosting income and poverty alleviation and its indirect effects are also on the health, education, road transportation, natural environment and many more sectors.
According to the statistics, it appears that the destinations of Mandalay Region, Bagan and Pyin Oo Lwin are favourite not only by the foreign tourists but also the domestic travelers. Therefore, while putting efforts for the increase of international tourists’ arrival, the preparations should be made to render Services of the convenience of transportation, food and accommodation, attractions, activities and good Services for the domestic travelers.
Next, the departmental officials, responsible officials from the tourism associations, hoteliers and travel agencies reported the work implementations for the development of tourism sector and facing difficulties as per the relevant sectors and the Union minister explained, coordinated requirements and gave a speech of conclusion.
