Hotel and Tourism industry: MoHT Union Minister met stakeholders of tourism industry

With the aim at systematic development of hotel and tourism sector in the regions and states destinations, the Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism U Aung Thaw together with Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko met with the region, district and township level departmental officials, responsible persons from the hotel and tourism industry private sector at the region government office in the morning on Thursday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said the ministry is implementing to regain the rapid development of Myanmar Hotel and Tourism industry by drawing the strategy. It’s needed to improve the domestic tourism and the international tourism to be on upturn.

The collaborative efforts are needed to discover the new destinations, to be smooth and easy tour and have tourist attractions, the assistance is required to provide within the framework of law, procedures, orders and directives to facilitate smooth and convenient work processes, tourism industry will flow to the local tourism industry and related sectors as well as the local residents, it facilitates the socio-economic development of the region etc.

Next, the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko clarified the work plans for the development of tourism industry in the region. Then, the Union Minister and Chief Minister awarded the level “Health and Safety Protocols-HSP” to the five hoteliers from Dawei Township and two from Myeik Township. Afterward, the attendees took part in the discussion for the development of tourism industry in the region and the union minister and chief minister coordinated requirements.
