






On 15th February, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by concerned officials made inspection tour at People’s Hospitals in Pantanaw and Maubin Townships of Ayeyawady Region.
On arrival at Pantatnaw People’s Hospital, the Union Minister and party met with the healthcare personnel of the hospital and staff from the Public Health Department. During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed for continuous Malaria prevention and control measures including administering vaccinations, regular hospital-based vaccination programs as per township, drafting micro plans, systematic school-based eye examiniation and deworming treatment, raising maternity awareness to reduce maternal mortality and healthcare cost reduction.
Emphasizing on convenience and well-being of the patients, the Union Minister instructed on systematic duty assignation of heatlthcare personnel, cleanliness and facelifting measaures of the hospitals and clinics, and medicine waste reduction.
After the meeting, the Union Minister made a tour around hospital and comforted the patients. As part of the efforts for Malaria prevention and control measures, the diagnostic tests, awareness campaigns and long-lasting mosquito repellent spraying activities are being conducted at the Myo Kwat Thit East Ward (1) and nearby villages in Pantanaw Township.
The Union Minister and party observed these activities and provided impregnated mosquito nets for the residents. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the construction process of the 4-storey staff housing building of the Public Health Department and instructed for timely completion of the process.
On the same day, the Union Minister and party met with the medical superintendent, specialists and healthcare personnel from the People’s Hospital in Maubin Township. The Union Minister heard report on operation of the hospital, and stressed the need on sufficient medication and healthcare cost reduction.
The Union Minister encouraged the healthcare personnel to show empathy to the patients to broaden the understanding and to provide best care. He also urged to perform their duties diligently for the interest of the people and nation.
After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected the hospital and supplemented necessities. In the evening, the Union Minister visited the Maubin District Food and Drug Administration Department and cordially met with the officials. There, he instructed on special emphasis to the public’s access to safe and healthy food and medication, to facilitate food production certificate application as well as provision of requisite assistance to upgrade laboratories.
