






Shan State Government on Monday held a ceremony to honour students who outstandingly passed the 2023 matriculation exam.
In this ceremony at the No. 1 Basic Education High School in Taunggyi Township, Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye highlighted the government’s support for students in the free education system.
In Shan State as a whole, the passing rate was 40.77% in 2022 and 66.93% in 2023, which shows that the passing rate has increased. The numbers of students who passed the matriculation exam with flying colours has increased.
The township with the highest passing rate in Shan State this year is Naungcho Township. The Chief Minister also expressed words of congratulations.
And, 228 students who passed the 2023 matriculation exam with 6 distinctions, 5 distinctions and 4 distinctions were honoured with prizes.
Also, Naungcho, Pinlaung and Pindaya townships and 3 schools in Mabein, Pindaya and Namkham townships were honoured for their efforts to have passed the exam with high passing rate.
This ceremony came to an end with a stage performance by students from the No. 7 Basic Education High School of Taunggyi Township.
