Honouring Ceremony for Athletes: Victorious athletes representing Rakhine State honored

The honouring ceremony for athletes representing Rakhine State who won medals in 32nd SEA Games was held at the State Government Office on 8th June. The ceremony was attended by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myo Thant, Dr. Thet Thet Khine, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and Rakhine athletes who won medals in 32nd SEA Games.

First, the athletes introduced themselves and explained about their experiences. Then, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung presented cash award and certificate of hounour to U Aung Myo Swe and U Aung Myo Naing who won silver medal in Sepak takraw (Double Team), Union Minister U Myo Thant to Ma Naw Htet Htet Wai who won silver medal in Women’s football.

Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet to Ma Phyo SweZin Kyaw who won bronze medal in 70kg Judo competition and State Chief Minister U Htein Lin to Ma Khin Su Su who won bronze medal in 52 kg Judo Competition.

After that, the athletes and coaches donated 2 million kyats for Cyclone victims through the State Chief Minister.

Next, the Union Ministers and officials attended the work coordination meeting with the Rakhine State Natural Disaster Management Committee and the senior military officers who are currently carry in out rehabilitation activities.

At the meeting, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung said that estimated stastics of the losses as per the township due the Cyclonic storm will be confirmed and coordinated. He also added that the State is transporting and distributing relief aid for the cyclone victims via waterand air routes for each township.

After that, the senior military officers reported on the conditions and requirements in Buthidaung, Kyauk Phyu, Rathetaung, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Than Dwe, Pauktaw,Ramree, Ponnakyun, Minbyar, Myaybon , Maungtaw and Sittwe Townships and Lt-GenTun Tun Naung coordinated the needs.

After that, the State Chief Minister UHtein Linn supplicated on the using of funds for natural disaster effectively and sending the specific list of losses and damages of MSMEs and keeping there cord of distributing rescue and relief items to the people.

In his response to the reports, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung coordinated the requirements and made a concluding remark. In the evening, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the regular work coordination meeting for rehabilitation of natural disaster at the Rakhine State Government Office and then coordinated the needs.
