









To celebrate and honor Myanmar Women's Day, which falls on July 3, 2025, the Myanmar National Committee for Women (MNCW) organized a tree planting ceremony on July 2, at a vacant plot located on Orchid Road, between Kassapa Nadi Road and Taw Win Yadana Road in Bawgathiddhi Ward in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw and the Chairman of the Myanmar National Committee for Women, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win, attended and led the planting of a starflower sapling.
Attendees then joyfully planted various saplings in their designated spots, including Padauk, Mahogany, Pyinma, Starflower, Rain Tree, Thingan, and Teak.
Following the planting, the Union Minister and Deputy Ministers toured the area, observing and encouraging the tree planting efforts. During the event, a total of 150 perennial trees were planted as a pre-celebration activity for Myanmar Women's Day 2025.
Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister attended and delivered the opening remarks at a paper reading session held at the Myanmar National Committee for Women's Affairs Office in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw in celebration of Myanmar Women's Day.
During the session, Professor Dr. Khin Swe Myint, Head of the Social and Cultural Group of the Myanmar National Committee for Women's Affairs, served as the chairperson.
The paper authors read the papers on topics including "Legal Framework for Protecting Women from Violence", "The Future of Youth and Climate Change", "Nurturing Young Women for the Advancement of Women's Lives" and "The State of Violence against Children and Women in Myanmar". Attendees asked questions regarding the presented papers.
