Honoring reception: Kachin State CM honored the sports teams and athletes

The Kachin State sports contingent participated in the Region and State Level sports competitions in the 5thNational Sports Festival concluded on 20th December, 2024. The Kachin State team won several gold, silver, and bronze medals in various sports categories. Furthermore, Kachin State secured a top-5 position overall in the competition. To honor this achievement, the Kachin State government organized a reception at 5:30 PM on December 22 in front of the state government office.

At the event, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, gave the words of honor to the athletes for their efforts in securing Kachin State's place in the top five among 15 regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council. He highlighted that the state had successfully raised its profile and honored the state's reputation through these achievements. He also encouraged the athletes and officials to continue striving for further success and development in Kachin State's sports sector.

Following this, U Aung Thu, the leader of the Kachin State Sports contingent, and the Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, explained the state's performance in the National Sports Festival and shared their experiences from the competition.

At the event, the Chief Minister and wife, the Chief Justice of the State Court, State government ministers, and State Advocate General honored individual athletes and teams who won medals, including 16 gold, 11 silver, and 22 bronze medals with the certificates and cash awards of over 50 million Kyats. The donors also contributed with their own recognition and awards. A medal-winning athlete expressed gratitude on behalf of the team.

The event continued with performances of music and traditional dances, with the Chief Minister and wife, the Chief Justice of the State Court, state ministers and their spouses, as well as specially invited guests, departmental officials, and athletes all enjoying the performances and sharing a warm and celebratory dinner together.
