Honoring ceremony: Taninthayi Region Government honored sports teams

The honoring ceremony for the medal winners at State Administration Council Chairman’s Cup Golf (open) tournament, Myanmar traditional martial art of Thaing, Tracks and fields competitions held in commemorating the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of Independence Day, was held at the meeting hall of the Taninthayi Region Government, Dawei Township in the afternoon on 11 January.

First, the director of region sports and physical education department U Soe Moe Naing clarified the preparations for the victory.

At the occasion, the region chief minister U Myat Ko said as the winning the medals in the regions and states sports competitions brought the pride and standard of the region, the winner athletes are deserved to be honored with such ceremony. Taninthayi Region has turned out many national selections for the sports of Golf, Myanmar Traditional Martial Art of Thaing and Tracks and Field. The athletes are urged to convey their success to the future and keep putting efforts to be able to bring the honor of the country.

Next, the responsible officials presented trophy secured by the golf team to the chief ministers and the region government presented one million Kyats of cash of honor to the golf team and 200,000 Kyats to the third winner, 0.7 million kyats for the team of traditional martial art of Thaing and 10.3 million Kyats to the prize winning teams of track and field.

Moreover, region women’s affairs federation and maternal and child welfare supervising committee presented 100,000 kyats of honor, chairman of region tract and field submittee presented one million Kyats of honor and U Zayyar htay, the administrator of the team of traditional martial art of Thaing expressed words of thanks on behalf of the region’s sports contingent, it’s learnt.
