Honoring ceremony: Ceremony to honor people involved in fund raising

The ceremony to honor people who involved in providing aid and raising funds for the cyclone affected people was held at the ballroom of Sky Star Hotel in the morning on 19th June.

Union Minister for information U Maung Maung Ohn, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials from Region Government, Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music Association (Central), Central Myanmar Thabin Artists Association, officials from Myanmar comedy artistes Association, the people who are involving in rehabilitation works for cyclone affected people and invited guests attended the ceremony.

First of all, the ceremony was opened by screening the recorded video of activities conducting rehabilitation tasks. After that, Union Minister for information U Maung Maung Ohn delivered the opening speech and also Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave the delighted words.

The officials from respective associations spoke congratulatory words. With the leading of the Ministry of Information, Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music Association (Central), Central Myanmar Thabin Artists Association and Myanmar comedy artistes Association jointly organized fundraising variety show at National Theatre from 2nd to 4th June and MOCHA fundraising football match and music shows at Thuwanna stadium in Yangon from 16th to 17th June.

Funds raised from those fundraising activities will be donated to the MOCHA affected areas and will be used in rehabilitation efforts.
