Honoring Ceremony: Blood donors honored by MoH and YGN GOVT

The 44th honoring ceremony for Blood Donors and the honoring ceremony for the blood donors who were awarded the Social Outstanding Medal (First Grade) by the State Administration Council was held at the University of Nursing (Yangon) in the afternoon on 8th January with the attendance of Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, region ministers and senior officials, well wishers and blood donors.

In his remark, the Union Minister for Health shed light on the honoring the blood donors reached 44th times. The reviving of awarding the social outstanding medals to the blood donors after years suspended. The State Administration Council awarded the social outstanding (First Grade) to 30 blood donors with order no (232/2022) dated 22nd December.

The Union Minister also pointed out that for the time being, there are 7 regional blood banks such as Mandalay, Magawe, Mawlamyaing, Myitkyina, Taunggyi, Pathein and Nay Pyi Taw and a national blood bank. Moreover, the blood banks are also extended at 200-bed and 100-bed hospitals attached to the laboratory.

Next, the Union Minister, Chief Minister, region ministers and the director general of the medical service department presented medals, certificates and cash of honor to the 75 blood donors.Among the 75 blood donors, 30 are the social outstandingaward reciepients, 35 who donated blood for 120 times and above and 10 whodonated 100 times and above included.

Then, the children who recovered through flood infusion treatment performed the dances and songs and the union minister and chief minister presented them with the cash of honor.During the honoring ceremony, a total of 551 blood donors were presented the medals of honor and certificates of honor by the Ministry of Health and 19.5 million Kyats of cash donor by the Yangon Region Government and 32.1 million Kyats of cash of honor by the well wishers, it’s learnt.
