






The Ministry for Ethnic Affairs held a ceremony of honoring and staff meeting at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 24th December.
The Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, Permanent Secretary, Director Generals, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Director Generals, as well as officers and staff attended the event. Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, in his opening speech, expressed pride in the Ministry’s achievements.
The Ministry successfully participated in the Maravijaya Buddha Image Dazaingdaing Festival, where it was honored with the Best Discipline Award, and in the 2024 National Sports Festival, where the Ministry participated in six sports and won one gold medal, securing the 8th position overall.
The Union Minister highlighted that these successes were due to the discipline of the individuals and the teams that participated. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good traditions and discipline to continue achieving such success.
Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung also expressed gratitude to all staff for their contributions in elevating the Ministry’s reputation. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement in performance, noting that enhanced capabilities would lead to greater overall Ministry performance.
This would enable the Ministry to effectively address ethnic issues and contribute to the nation’s peace, stability, and development.The Union Minister then presented certificates of honor to the Permanent Secretary and Director Generals for winning the Best Discipline Award at the Maravijaya Buddha Image Dazaingdaing Festival.
Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung also presented certificates of recognition to the athletes and team leaders who participated in the 2024 National Sports Festival and won a gold medal, acknowledging their contribution to the Ministry’s success.
Afterward, staff from the Union Ministry and other departments presented their challenges and needs. The relevant department heads addressed these issues, and both the Union Minister and Deputy Minister coordinated requirements.The Union Minister, Deputy Minister, and staff then enjoyed the lunch together, it’s reported.
