Honorary Title: The Government Of Japan Conferred To Myanmar National

Professor Daw Si Si Shein received “the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” title at the conferment ceremony of Japanese Embassy in Yangon on Wednesday.

The Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2019 Spring Imperial Decorations on 21st of May. Professor Daw Si Si Shein from Myanmar was selected to offer the Japanese Government honorary title for this year.

She has been chosen for the title for her contribution for the development of Japanese studies in Myanmar and promoting friendly relations between the two countries. 

Ambassador, Japanese Embassy (Yangon), H.E. Ichiro Maruyama said “This conferment intends to the foreign nationals those are willing to effort for the promotion of good relations with Japan in their countries. Professor Daw Si Si Shein served as the Japanese Language teacher in her whole life in YUFL. She also served as the Chairman of Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA). So, the Japanese government recognized to honor the title of Myanmar recipient.”

Professor Daw Si Si Shein is the very first Japanese Language teacher in Myanmar and she also led Japanese studies in Myanmar.

Recipient, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, Professor Si Si Shein said “I am very proud to receive the honorary title from Japanese Government. I am also pleased with the recognizing of my effort to promote Japan-Myanmar relations. Japanese language is now very popular and easy to get job opportunities. So, many students are now learning the Japanese Language and hope for boosting cooperation between the two countries.” 

Up to now, the Japanese Government offered the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette title to three Myanmar nationals including Professor Daw Si Si Shein.
