Hong Kong rushes to ditch construction netting after deadly fire

Workers took off protective nets from the scaffolding of buildings in Hong Kong after the government ordered their removal by Saturday. The blaze that devastated Wang Fuk Court, which killed at least 159 people and displaced thousands more, was partly blamed on protective netting installed as part of estate-wide renovations that failed to meet standards for fire resistance.
