The Hong Kong Legislative Council election on December 7th

The Chief Executive said the Hong Kong Legislative Council election will be held on December 7th. He also requested talks to resolve teething problems at Kai Tak and also outlined a smoother entry to Hong Kong for ASEAN professionals. 90 lawmakers to be elected in Legislative Council. 

Three months before that, on September 7th, Election Committee subsector by-elections will be held to select 90 people joining the body. The 1,500-member Election Committee is responsible for electing 40 members of Legislative Council and nominating candidates. The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau will unveil the nomination period on a later date.
