A Hong Kong developed chip named after the city's iconic Lion Rock has officially entered mass production

. The newly launched chip “The Lion Rock Chip” is the world’s first data centre management chip based on the RISC-V instruction set, which is the fifth generation of reduced instruction set computing. It features open-source code which could help overcome commercial and political barriers. The product is funded by a family office established by Henderson Land Chairman Peter Lee and the Hong Kong Investment Corporation.
