Home for the Aged: Prime Minister visited the facility in Sittwe

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife visited Home for the Aged in Sittwe on Saturday. They first heard reports on the salient points of the facility including catering, accommodation, health care services and donation by well-wishers and the state.

The Prime Minister gave instructions to the Chief Minister, the Commander and officials to fulfill the needs of the elders. He also stressed the need to create the environ that could support for physical and mental health of the elder persons.

The Prime Minister and wife and party later presented nutritious foods and provisions to the elders. They later viewed round the facility, and encouraged the elders who were not able to attend the ceremony. They also made collective cash donation for the elders.

Established at Thinganet Village in 1984, the Home for the Aged was moved to the current address on Mayyu Street in Sittwe in 1997. Altogether 9 grandpas and 32 grandmas are being accommodated at the facility.
