Hoisting golden umbrella: Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman attended

The ceremony of golden umbrella hoisting atop Theiddhi Aung Ceti at the precinct of Kyun Tet Pe monastery in Dakkhinathiri Township, Lewe District, Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw at 7:20 AM on Tuesday with the presence of presiding Sayadaw of Kyun Tet Pe monastery and members of Sangha.

The Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Tin Oo Lwin and wife Daw May Myint Maung, Council members and wives, Nay Pyi Taw level departmental officials, officials concerned, well wishers and invited guests also attended the ceremony. First, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, council members hoisted golden umbrella, pennant shaped vane and Diamond Bud atop the Theiddhi Aung Ceti and the officials and well wishers hoisted golden umbrellas atop the encircled cetis, sprinkled the golden umbrella, pennant shaped vane and Diamond Bud with scented water and tossed the banknotes at the token of achievement.

Next, the members of Sangha consecrated the pagoda. Afterward, the opening ceremony of Dakkhinathiri Township-wide fourth uninterrupted reciting of Pathana Dhamma Discourses was held at the community hall of the monastery at 9 AM. After congregation led by the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman observed five precepts administered by the Presiding Sayadaw of Kyun Tet Pe monastery and the master of ceremony recited the verse on virtue of Pathana Dhamma Discourses.

Next, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and wife donated 45 Buddha images made of multiple flowers grounded, Nay Pyi Taw Council members and officials 18 Buddha images made of multiple flowers grounded, book of Pathana Dhamma discourses, pots and water of Pathana and Paritta suttas and cash donation.

The congregation led by the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman took the paritta sutta, sermon and shared the merits gained. After concluding the opening ceremony, the members of Sangha were offered day meal. The Dakkhinathiri Township-wide fourth uninterrupted reciting of Pathana Dhamma Discourses will be held for three days from 11th to 13th April.
