Historic Cetis: Gold Foil Offering and Libation is conducted

The fifth time circular gold foil offering of historic Maha Dammaranti Eain Taw Yar pagoda and libation ceremony was held at Yadana Beikmandawgyi on the pagoda platform on 7th April.

Located in Yangon region, Dagon Township, at MyomaKyaung Street, tt was organized by Yangon region Eain Taw Yarpadoda Board of Trustees together with the well-wishers. 

Presiding Sayadaw, Dagon Pariyatti Sarthintaik, Baddanta Mæmakæbhivaµsa, said " As a saying of Lord Buddha relating with performing meritorious deeds, the one doing with triple gems is the most valuable. So, through paying homage and offering to these triple gems, may you all be able to perform the good deeds possessing physical and mental well-being and to be able to reach Nibban, it is now to share the merits gained to all beings seen or unseen in all existences through a libation."

On the 19th of March before this ceremony, the ceremony of hoisting diamond bud and pennant-shaped vane atop the pagoda was held here as well.

Chairman (Board of Trustee), Mahædhammaransi Eindawyar Pagoda, Myo Min, said " Today, 9 Sayadawgyis are going to conduct consecration for the pagoda. We will take 8 precepts, listen to the PrittaSutta and offer offertories.  The pagoda board of trustees to give certificate of honor to the well-wishers. After listening to the sermons and it is to close the ceremony with reciting Buddha ThatananSiranTheiktahtu and offer day meal. I wish all peace and happy in New Year."

He continued that , a ceremony of taking precepts to be held YadanaBeikmandawgyi and providing meals is arranged for laypersons.

The historic MahaDammarantiEain Taw Yar pagoda in Yangon and MahaLawkarantiEain Taw Yar pagoda in Mandalay were built by the ninth Konbaung dynasty Bagan Min in 1210 ME, the ninth  and is now about 175 years old.
