Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave Congressional testimony on Thursday about her ties to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sexual abuse.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held the closed-door hearing in New York, which is the state where the Clintons reside. The committee is led by the Republican Party. Clinton released a statement before the hearing saying she does not recall ever meeting Epstein and that the Republicans are compelling her to testify "to distract attention" from President Donald Trump. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is set to give his own testimony on Friday.
