High Yield Rubber Strains: Perennial Crops Division Will Distribute To Rubber Growers

The Perennial Crops Division under the Department of Agriculture will distribute the high yield rubber saplings at reasonable prices to rubber growers in this season. The department announced that the quality rubbers will be substituted in the place of old rubber plants across the nation.

It is reported that the Division will distribute high quality rubber species such as PP-260, PP-235, and PPM-24 to the rubber growers.

TunTunHtwe, Director, Perennial Crops Division said “We will distribute high yield and cost effective rubber species to the rubber growers. First, we will mainly distribute 3 rubber strains that we have already announced. There is also free distribution program annually. The rubber growers can contact the respective agricultural offices in the regions and states to get the high yield rubber species. On the other hand, there have been over 1.6 million acres of rubber plantations and over 940,000 acres are producing rubber resin.”

The Perennial Crops Division also opens the Training of Trainers for the staff of the Department and rubber cultivation method training courses for rubber growers in each region and state.
