High-speed railway linking east China scenic cities begins operation

A high-speed railway linking the scenic cities of Hangzhou and Huangshan in east China went into operation on Tuesday. It will thread through a series of renowned scenic spots, including Mount Huangshan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the West Lake in Hangzhou and the picturesque Fuchun River and Thousand Islands Lake in Zhejiang Province.

the high-speed railway will have nine stations. From Tuesday to Jan. 4, 2019, there will be 11 pairs of trains operating on the route. As of Jan. 5, 2019, 33 pairs of trains are scheduled to transport passengers on the new high-speed rail route.
