Heritage Conservation: Efforts for conservation of ancient cultural heritage

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung on Sunday visited Kyaukpadaung Township, and inspected the infrastructure development works in Indaw Village. They also inspected restoration tasks of Mya Kan Lake and greening efforts at Tuyin Mountain in Nyaung U Township.

The Union Ministers also inspected the road upgrading works in Konetangyi, Pyauk Seik Pin and East Phwa Saw Villages.  They also oversaw the progress of restoration works  at Pyaukseikpin  Lakes 1, 2 and 3, and Kyauk Oh Lake, being carried by the alloted fund of the Ministry of Border Affairs.

Likewise, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is implementing the restoration of Zayawaiyi Lake, Mingala Lake (3) and Pyatha (Kan Thit) Lake. Moreover, southern part of Bagan’s eastern moat is under the excavation process, and plans are underway to excavate the northern moat.

During the inspection, the Union Minister instructed to carry out the takes with systematic record as the renovation and restoration works in the archaeological site is one of the work processes of World Heritage sites.
