A helicopter that fell short of its landing pad crashed into the Hudson River in New York City on Wednesday, injuring two people, police and fire officials said. The helicopter's pilot and a heliport worker suffered "non-life-threatening" injuries in the incident. The pilot was the only person aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash. Photo and video images of the scene showed the aircraft upside-down and partially submerged in the river as crews worked to secure it.
