Heavy rain leaves Cairo streets flooded

Heavy thunderstorms hit Egypt's capital, Cairo and several provinces on Tuesday, flooding streets and causing disruption.

The densely populated capital usually sees more than 200 days of sunshine a year, though it can experience fog and haze from humidity and pollution.

Even light storms can cause damage to roads and infrastructure in parts of the country, not meant to withstand heavy precipitation.
