Heavy rain and flash flooding in England

Heavy rain in England caused some disruption on Sunday night and in the early hours of Monday.

Trees fell in London, after a yellow warning had been put in place for thunder for much of southern and eastern England.

Parts of southern England, including London experienced flash flooding and a number of roads were closed and some trains disrupted. On Sunday, National Rail reported disruption caused by heavy flooding on train routes between Sturbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill, and Stoke-On-Trent and Maccles field.
