Heathrow Airport resumes flights after fire triggers total closure

Flights resumed at London's Heathrow Airport Friday evening after a fire knocked out its power supply and shut the major global travel hub earlier that day. A media reported that backup systems are working but unable to provide enough power to run all operations.

Initially, the airport said it would remain closed all day Friday. Also there were some 1,300 flights scheduled at the airport that day. Many planes were forced to divert to other airports in the UK and Europe. Heathrow said it expects to be back in full operation on Saturday.
