Manufacturers are showcasing products to help beat the heat at an exhibition in Tokyo as temperatures soar across much of Japan.

About 60 firms, including air-conditioning equipment makers and textile companies, are taking part in the exhibition at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center.  Their products are made with everyone from construction workers to the general public in mind.

One textile company has come up with vests and pants with built-in fans.  Other companies have also introduced fans into their apparel.  Fans in caps generate airflow and help to keep people's heads cool while they walk, mountain climb or watch sporting events.

Another company has started making helmet liners with fabric that feels cool to the touch. For pets, there are vests with ice packs to help keep them cool for a long time. Interested visitors inquired about the products' features and prices.
