Healthcare services: Sagaing Region CM inspected healthcare services

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, accompanied by members of the Region Government, Region-level departmental officials, Chairmen of the Kanbalu  District/Township Administrative Bodies, and other responsible officials, visited Kanbalu Township City Hall on the morning of February 24.

They observed and supported the second day of activities, which included free eye surgeries and mobile specialist medical treatments for obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and general diseases. These services, aimed at residents of Kanbalu Township and surrounding villages, are being conducted from February 23 to February 27.

The Chief Minister and officials inspected the registration of patients with eye conditions, obstetric and gynecological issues, pediatric cases, and general illnesses inside the City Hall. They also observed the examination, testing, and treatment processes.

At Kanbalu Township’s 100-bed People’s Hospital, they reviewed the provision of free eye surgeries for residents of Kanbalu and nearby villages. They warmly greeted patients, offered words of encouragement, and, together with responsible officials, distributed lunch meals.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and officials attended a meeting with district and township-level departmental representatives at Kanbalu District General Administration Office. The event began with the Chairman of Kanbalu District Administrative Body presenting regional data about the townships within the district via a PowerPoint presentation. 

Following this, members of the regional government, regional-level departmental officials, and district administrative body members provided detailed explanations about their respective responsibilities and ongoing tasks.

The Chief Minister then handed over 126 million kyats to the Superintendent of Kanbalu Township 100-bed People’s Hospital to support free eye surgeries and specialist mobile medical services for obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and general diseases for residents of Kanbalu and surrounding villages.

Additionally, financial assistances were distributed to district-level departmental staff, township-level staff from Kanbalu and Kyunhla  Townships, and security personnel on duty.

The Chief Minister elaborated on the efforts of the state and the Region Government in ensuring security and stability, upholding the rule of law, and promoting regional development, education, healthcare, agriculture, livestock, and MSMEs within Kanbalu District.

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister and officials met with members of the Kanbalu Township People’s Security and Counter-Terrorism Team at the district office, where he delivered a speech. He then presented January salary payments to the team members from Kanbalu and Kyunhla Townships, handing the funds to responsible officials and personally greeting the members in a friendly manner, it’s reported.
