Healthcare Service Management: Working Committee meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

Healthcare Service Management Working Committee held its meeting at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw on 29th May.

In his opening speech, Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee highlighted the crucial role of health sector in natural disaster response measures.

The Union Minister underscored the strenuous efforts of the departmental officials and organizations during and post disaster period to ensure uninterrupted health care provisions and prevent infectious diseases following natural disasters. The Union Minister added that preparations are underway to prevent and control diarrhea and respiratory diseases which usually occur during rainy season.

Moreover, necessary drills and exercises are practiced at the people’s hospitals to secure effective response measures to potential disasters.

Likewise, medicine and medical equipment and machines are stored sufficiently in respective regions and states for the potential disasters. Next, clarifications and discussions were made on completed tasks and further work implementation of the committee and sector-wise collaborative measures. The meeting was concluded with the closing remarks of the Chairman of the Committee.
