Healthcare Sector: MGH gives treatment services with 31 departments

Mandalay General Hospital (MGH) has 32 departments that provide medical treatment.

Currently, 31 departments are running with healthcare experts and nurses for treatment services.All treatments processes of various specialized subjects are carried out by the relevant specialist teachers, professional nurses and supporting departments. 

Dr.ThetAung, Medical Superintendent, Mandalay General Hospital, said " We can say that the operations of hospital have gained momentum. The emergency department is operating 24 hours a day without any holidays. But, the department of Cardiovascular Surgery can’t operate due to some reasons. The department of general care provides treatments without holidays and the surgery departments treats patients every day. We give the treatment services to the hypoglycemia and hypertension patients 2 days a week. Most of the departments give the medical treatments from 9 am to 12 pm without holidays."

Mandalay General Hospital can handle 60 to 90 surgeries and emergency cases per week. The various departments give the medical services to 450 to 500 in-patients and about 900 outpatients a day.

Dr.ThetAung, Medical Superintendent, Mandalay General Hospital, said "The department of cardiovascular medicine provides immediate treatments for the patients. We also provide 24 hour services for patients who need blood-transfusions. The laboratories department also provides treatments service using modern equipment such as biopsy check up."

Mandalay General Hospital provides effective treatment services at low cost for the patients. Also, it serves as a primary teaching institution for University of Medicine, Mandalay.
