Healthcare Sector: Appointment of head nurses in-charge as gazetted officers

The Ministry of Health organized a ceremony to appoint 137 head nurses in charge as gazetted officers and the opening of Nursing Management Course at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday with the attendance of the Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Deputy Minister, other concerned officials and invited guests.

At the opening remark of the Union Minister for Health, the head nurses will be assigned at the Central level hospitals, region/state level hospitals and departments of Public Health under the Ministry. He stressed that it is important to cooperate with other health care workers in providing health care services to the public and nurses play a vital role in providing quality health care services.

He also urged the attendees to become responsible health care workers for stronger and high-quality standard health care services in Myanmar. He said that the Ministry is arranging Local/Abroad training courses and Skill Enhancement Training for the staff to produce skillful health care workers and to improve health caring skills.

Then, the Union Minister and Deputy Minister presented the appointment letters to the head nurses and a nurse expressed word of thanks as a representative. And, the Union Minister and party had lunch together with the assigned nurses.

It’s reported that, 3 days Nursing Management Course will be conducted for these 137 head nurses to shoulder their duties at the respective hospitals/departments, and manage nurses.
