Healthcare Initiatives: Meeting with private sector and hospital officials

Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Central Body for Private Healthcare Services, held a meeting with the Chairman and Executive Committee members of the Myanmar Private Hospitals Association on Sunday.

In his speech, the Union Minister stated that plans have been made for the emergence of a National Health Insurance System and called for the cooperation of the private health sector in alignment with the policies and guidelines of the ministry.

The meeting discussed various matters, including providing international standard hospitals to reduce the number of patients going overseas for medical check-ups and treatment, granting licenses for treatment and hospital establishment, and stockpiling medicines.

Subsequently, the Union Minister met with officials from Yangon General Hospital and New Yangon General Hospital to discuss plans for extended opening of medical wards and combined health treatment programs, as well as academic matters.
