Healthcare Announcement: Response to severe diarrhea outbreak in Yangon

Ministry of Health made an announcement, stating that the on-ground teams have been actively working to control the outbreak of severe diarrhea in several townships of Yangon Region under the close supervision of the Ministry of Health and with the assistance of the Yangon Region government.

From 6 pm on the 12th of July to 6 pm on the 13th of July, 72 new diarrhea patients were admitted to hospitals in Yangon Region. Among them, 19 were confirmed to have severe diarrhea, and all patients were reported to be in good condition. By 6 pm on the 13th of July, a total of 455 diarrhea patients had been discharged from hospitals. Efforts to control the disease are being accelerated.
