The Information Team of the State Administration Council issued an announcement on Thursday regarding the health condition of Pro-Tem President U Myint Swe.
Since early 2023, he has been undergoing regular medical check-ups due to symptoms of slowness of movement and loss of appetite. The medical examinations detected slow nerve system function and weakness.
In April, he underwent neurological examinations at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Medical Center, followed by treatments at No.2 Defence Services Hospital (1000-bed) in May and June.
Additionally, he received cataract surgery, improving his vision condition. Despite these efforts, his nerve system weakness persists, necessitating medical leave and ongoing treatment by a specialized medical team at his residence until the end of June.
Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and 8 specialists conducted further medical check-ups from 30th June to 14th July, but, there has been no improvement in his health condition, and he remains unable to resume regular routines. The State Administration Council continues to closely monitor his health with appropriate measures in place.
