Health Sector: MOH Union Minister inspects hospital in Bago Region

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win, together with officials, visied Thayawady District Hospital in Bago Region on Thursday. They inspected the Emergency Unit, Out-Patient Department, Patient Wards, X-Ray Room and Laboratory, and encouraged the patients. In meeting with the Medical Superintendent, Specialists, nurses and health staff, the Union Minister emphasized to provide quality health care services to the patients and to carry out for disease prevention measures.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to Lebadan People’s Hospital, and viewed the work undertakings for health care services. They also inspected the construction of two-strorey annex building, and instruted for time completion of the project. On arrival at Zee Kone People’s Hospital, the Union Minister inspected the patient wards and work undertakings of X-Ray Room and Laboratory, and encoraged the patients and health staff.

In Nattalin, they inspected the construction of two-story annex building of People’s Hospital, and instructed for timely completion and worksite safety. They then visited 500-bed People’s Hospital in Pyay, and met with the officials from the Departments of Public Health and Treatment. In his speech, the Union Minister said that the Minsitry is carrying out for upgrading of township level hospitals for providing quality health care services to the people.

More doctors and health staff are being appointed not only at the township hospitals but also at the station hospital. He urged all to make cooperative efforts for providing better basic health care services to the public and stressed the need to make accelerated efforts for prvention and control of seasonal flu and dengue fever.
