Union Minister of Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, along with Directors-General, visited Kyaukse General Hospital on Sunday.

They reviewed healthcare for both regular and earthquake-injured patients during the visit. The Union Minister also inspected the supply of medicines, the condition of hospital buildings and instructed to ensure effective allocation of donations for the affected communities.

They then visited Mandalay General Hospital to inspect hospital operations. The Union Minister instructed for the swift repair of damaged wards and departments and called for the prompt resumption of all treatment services. In the afternoon, they proceeded to the University of Medicine (Mandalay) and met with officials from the Region Departments of Public Health, Medical Services, Food and Drug Administration, hospital superintendents from general hospitals and academic personnel from the University of Medicine and affiliated institutions.

Emphasizing the need for thorough inspection of hospital buildings following the recent earthquake, they also discussed ongoing disease surveillance and prevention efforts in evacuation camps and the reopening of laboratory services.

The Union Minister and party then visited the prosthetics and assistive devices workshop at Mandalay Orthopaedics Hospital. They oversaw prosthetic fittings for earthquake victims while instructing the use of quality materials for them. They also inspected the temporary medical camp and encouraged the patients.
